This is not really an accurate or scientific list. I think I have about 15 other favorite movies including many more contemporary ones like the celebration and such, but when asked for a favorite movie, I usually name one of these four:

1. Lawrence of Arabia

2. On the Waterfront

3. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington/It’s a Wonderful Life (tied)

4. Auntie Mame 

Just noticed that all of these movies (minus mr. smith) are playing in the next few weeks . Lawrence of Arabia Friday at the Aero. On the Waterfront thursday at egyptian and i’m going, It’s a wonderful life all over. Auntie Mame next thursday at the egyptian but you straight dudes maybe won’t like it unless you like fucking serious, hardcore 50’s-style hamming and Rosalind Russell and living life to the fullest, eccentric aunt-style. Which I do. 

All my favorite movies playing. There’s a message here, i bet. But if I were good at decoding my own messages from the universe I wouldn’t need to watch so many movies.
